Spring Style Trends I'm Obsessing Over

Since discovering we were moving to Kansas City, I put my wallet on ice for a while so we could save some money given all the major expenses that undoubtedly come with moving. That said, there's always enough room in the budget for a little spring shopping, right?! I mean, the fact that there was 2 feet of snow on the ground two weeks ago and now the temps are in the 70s is absolutely cause for shopping celebrations. Luckily, I have my secret shopping weapon in the store Gordmans! Since collaborating with them earlier in the year, I thought it was the perfect time to head back to see what they could offer my spring shopping fever. And boy did I score!

In my perusing, I noticed a few trends that are easy on the pocketbook but add killer style to most any look! Read on to see my Gordmans's purchases and the style inspo I curated from my finds! P.S. One of the first things I did when I heard we were moving was a google search to see if there was a Gordmans in Kansas City - and I'm so stoked that there is! Woo hoo. Life saved.

Trend #1: The White Tee

Okay, this one is no doubt a classic - BUT, i'm seeing all kinds of fun ways to reinvent this traditional closet staple. This one caught my eye because it was a bit oversized and had a nice cutout detail at the neckline. I thought it would be fun to knot it at the waistline and pair it with a fun and flirty skirt for the ultimate spring vibe. P.S. this top is like oh so soft, I can't even stand it. AND it was $9 at Gordmans so yeah, I bought two. LOL.

Trend #2: The Statement Sleeve

I can't tell you how many amazing sleeves I've seen on the runways lately. And Gordmans has an amazing selection of all different styles. Statement sleeves range anywhere from a sassy draped sleeve, to a more accentuated flow, like this one below. I like my sleeves, like I like my life, a bit unexpected and a whole lot of fun! This top was only $12!

Trend #3: The Patterned Tee

The printed top has been a nice trend to see lately. I like finding prints that can amp up a simple jean or short when the warmer temps roll in. The scalloped design of this one is a classic and the black and white is still easy to pair with other colored bottoms but I wanted to build on the texture and color with a statement necklace for a bit pizzazz. This top was only $6 at Gordmans and I can see myself wearing it in 100s of different ways.

Trend #4: The Comfy Cardigan

Even though things are starting the thaw in Spring, the mornings and evenings can be a bit on the chillier side. I've been obsessing over cardigans like this one below lately. I love that you can make them a bit dressier with a dress or fun blouse/skirt combo underneath or dress it down like I did here with some sneaks and an easy jean short. Cardigans are great transitional pieces too - I like to bring mine into fall and well into winter as they are great for layering. This one I found at Gordmans I've also paired a fur vest over when the temps were a bit chillier the other day. The cardigan below was only $8!!!

Trend #5: The Swimsuit/Bodysuit

This one might be my favorite! Who says you have to head to the beach or pool in order to 'don their favorite swimwear? Well nobody every said that, SO, I'm liking the idea of getting extra use out of these truly fun one-piece swimsuits and wearing them as bodysuits. This one caught my eye immediately on the rack! I love the colors and the delicate cutouts both on the sides and the back of the suit. Definitely could wear this with a variety of bottoms. I went more demure on the pants since the top is a bit of a louder print. This one was only $18 at Gordmans too!

XOXO,

REMINDER: Gordmans has a unique program called the Lowest Price Guarantee, which is a price-matching program. The Guarantee means that if you find the same product anywhere else online or in stores, they will price match if you bring in the competitor's ad that shows the competing price! And not only that, they will even give you a $5 gift card for exposing them to the lower price. Even better is that whenever a customer does this, they flag it in their system and lower the price on that item moving forward. It's really a win-win.
