Coral Me Away

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting with the fun and talented Mallory Jo! Mal is a mutual friend from my college days who is coincidentally now my Eden Prairie neighbor! (Isn't it fun when that happens!) Anywho, we had a freaking blast trotting through the West River Road area of Minneapolis near the StoneArch bridge. There is so much history on this side of the city and I love it! I say "this side" of the city, because it's "my" side of the city! I work in the Mill Ruins building less than a block away and am inspired by the beauty and rich culture this area of the city provides each and every day.

It was only natural that I'd do a shoot around these parts at one time or another and when Mal suggested it, I was 100% in!

This look is a fun one for me - you'll see that in the next few posts I'm trying out the fishnets trend. Its a fun one, but can be a bit tricky. I like to be a little demure about the use of it because it can get a bit too sexy pretty fast, soooo, I'd be mindful of that when you're trying to decide whether or not it works for the type of look you're going for. That said, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a bit of sexy! Here I'm pairing it with this super fun dress by Milly, which is a stunning designer brand I recently discovered. Before you get carried away with the thought of me purchasing a dress that's more than $400, let me be the first to say, it was only $15! (P.s. If I would have splurged it would have been on this or this, hands down!)

How was this $15 you ask? As you know, I'm a sucker for a deal and when I discovered ThredUp a few months ago I was skeptical as to whether I would even find anything I liked. BUT lo and behold I found a gem in this little number and now I'm hooked. I paired it here with these super chic boots by Matisse that I've had on repeat for like 6 months (sorry not sorry) and they just keep on giving! Plus, I didn't want to go too business-y with a full on blazer so I kept it cool and classic with my ever-amazing Cape Blazer by the Who What Wear collection for Target (and can I just say they keep on killing it with each and every season!!).

Enjoy the look everyone! Will you try fishnets? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
